When the Waters Rose, So Did Our Mission: Muna Flood Relief 2024
Just a few days before our planned Muna Mission, the Kathmandu Valley and Kavre were hit by devastating floods that washed away rural roads and displaced entire communities. As reports came in, we learned that many families in Panauti, Kavre had lost their homes overnight.
In response, we shifted our focus from our original education-based mission to emergency relief. With the help of the Palden Foundation, we identified a riverside village where 50 households were struggling in the aftermath. Their needs were immediate—warm blankets to battle the cold and basic school supplies so children could continue learning amidst the uncertainty.
Thanks to our incredible supporters, we delivered:
• 50 clean blankets
• 20 school backpacks filled with essential educational materials
Even when the path changed, our purpose remained the same: to serve with compassion and act where the need is greatest.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who made this rapid response possible. Your kindness reached families when they needed it most.
